SS7 Connectivity

We terminate A2P SMS over our own SS7 connectivity.

Alcyon is connected to mobile networks at the signalling level. We use that SS7 connectivity to deliver application-to-person SMS, as one more termination path alongside our direct SMPP routes.

What it means

Another way to reach the handset.

SS7 is the signalling network mobile operators use between themselves. Being connected to it lets us hand an SMS to the destination network at that level.

Our own connectivity

The signalling connection is ours. We do not resell someone else’s SS7 access.

A2P termination

We use it to terminate application-to-person SMS: verification codes, alerts and notifications, and campaigns.

One more route to choose from

SS7 termination sits alongside our direct SMPP connections, so each destination can go out through the path that delivers best.

You still connect over SMPP

Nothing changes on your side: you send to us over SMPP and we decide which path each message takes.

Delivery reports

You receive a delivery receipt for each message, the same as on any other route.

Monitored like every route

Delivery over SS7 is tested and watched continuously, and traffic moves to another route if quality drops.

Who it is for

Senders and partners that need coverage and a reliable path to the operator.

How to use it

Ask us about your destinations.

Send us your destinations

Tell us the countries and operators you need and the type of traffic.

We confirm coverage

We tell you where SS7 termination is available and at what rate.

Connect over SMPP

You use your SMPP account with us; no signalling work is required on your side.

Send

Your traffic is delivered and monitored, with a delivery report for every message.
